My Shamanic Journey

In 2021, I embarked on a shamanic path, immersing myself in a year and a half of deep study with Nación Pachamama and later completing the Medicine Wheel with the School of Shamanic Artistry in 2023.
These foundational years prepared me for a transformative pilgrimage to Peru, where I, along with 12 other students, journeyed to the Sacred Apus (mountains) of Peru. Under the guidance of Don Eduardo Chura Apasa and his family, the guardians of the Q’ero lineage, we received nine Karpay Rites of Initiation. These rites are sacred ceremonies passed down through generations, holding the profound ancestral wisdom of the Q’ero people, protectors of the ancient knowledge of the Andes.
One of the most transformative experiences of this journey occurred at Apu Ausangate, a revered mountain spirit. After two nights of intense cold and high altitude, I underwent a powerful spiritual rebirth. In a vivid vision, I was cradled by the spirit of the earth and held by the Q’ero shamans as I emerged from the ground. This moment marked a deep shift within me, a rebirth that connected me to the ancient energies of the land and ancestors in a way that words cannot fully capture. The journey culminated at Apu Pachatusan, where I received the final Karpay Rite, filling my heart with immense gratitude for the wisdom shared through these sacred rites.
The shamanic path is a spiritual calling that transcends time and space. As I received the Karpay, I felt as though seeds of light were being planted within me. These seeds of light require nurturing and care through ongoing spiritual practice, energy work, and connection to the Earth. The true work of a shaman lies within. Deep engagement with these energies is necessary to allow growth and unfolding of the wisdom of the Karpay for those who seek.
As I walk this sacred path with reverence and honor, I am committed to sharing the healing energy I have received with others. It is my deepest joy and honor to offer these ancient traditions, supporting the spiritual growth and transformation of all who feel called to connect with this powerful energy.

Meet Juana Gutierrez
Juana Gutierrez is a Certified Reiki Master Teacher and professional member of the International Center for Reiki Training, Doctoral Student of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization at Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, CA, Q'ero Initiated Shamanic Practitioner , Certified Birth Doula from the Maternity Wise Institute, Past Life Regression Practitioner at the Quantum Healing Hypnosis Academy, Licensed Cosmetologist and Barber in the state of CA, and small business owner.
My journey into holistic medicine began in 2018 while studying alternative and complementary therapies for pain management during labor and birth at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My passion for holistic healing led me to train as a birth and postpartum doula under the mentorship of a midwife in Honolulu. Supporting women during labor and birth opened my heart to empowering others—helping them understand their bodies and tap into their own innate healing abilities.
In December 2019, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My initial goal was to become a Certified Nurse Midwife, but life had other plans. When my husband, an active-duty Marine, was stationed in Twentynine Palms, California, the nearest nursing program was over three hours away. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown further shifted my focus toward holistic healing and the etheric body—the subtle energy field that surrounds and influences our physical well-being.
This sparked my deep exploration of natural healing methods for the mind, body, and spirit. I soon discovered Reiki, fell in love with its healing potential, and in 2021, I became a Reiki student, practitioner, and teacher. That same year, I launched my own Reiki practice.
My intention as a holistic practitioner is to create a safe and nurturing space where clients can connect with their energy and spiritual essence, allowing deep healing to unfold. My mission is to show up authentically and with integrity in my healing work.
In January 2025, I took my studies further by becoming a student of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science. Through this program, I am expanding my knowledge of herbal medicine and holistic healing, deepening my understanding of how the body restores balance and wellness naturally.
Beyond my healing practice, I am a full-time mother, wife, hair artist, and small business owner. I love hiking, running, scuba diving, dancing, cooking, gardening, reading, and exploring new places to learn about different cultures and artistic expressions. I have an insatiable curiosity for life, always eager to learn and grow—both as a person and as a holistic healer.
I currently offer classes in Holy Fire® Reiki levels I, II, and Master, as well as Karuna Reiki. My services include Andean Shamanic Healing, Despacho Ceremonies, Reiki sessions, outdoor Sound Healing events, Guided Imagery Meditations, and Past Life Regression sessions.
The classes and services I provide meet the professional and ethical standards of the International Center for Reiki Training, the Reiki Membership Association, and the Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique Academy. My Shamanic practices honor the teachings of my Q’ero/Andean lineage mentors.
If you have any questions about Reiki or other holistic therapies, feel free to reach out via text or email.
With Love,
Juana
